Stop a takedown, take control and do some damage

Greg Jackson, MMA’s most in-demand coach demonstrates the best techniques for the cage, aided by UFC bantamweight, John Dodson

1 - As John grabs a single leg, Greg plants both hands on his opponent’s head so he can push him away

2 - Greg puts his head on the inside of John’s to create space, so John doesn’t have the leverage to dump Greg down.

3 - Greg grabs under John’s right arm with his left hand and under his left arm with his right.

4 - By driving his head forward, stamping his foot down and prying the arms apart, Greg frees himself from John’s grip.

5 - Greg reaches across with his left arm and puts it in place of his head to create a frame.

6 - As John’s posture is controlled by Greg’s frame, he can attack with a knee to the head.
